About
Bills Backers of Atlanta meet at the Cheyenne Grille located within Peachtree Battle Plaza. We are an official club registered with the Buffalo Bills Backers International and the largest club outside of the State of New York. Join us for beef on weck, anchor bar wings, Canadian beer and the occassional raffle. Club events include game day roadtrips, group trips to see Sabres vs. Thrashers, and our annual tailgate party (the event of the season).
Members watch the Bills games on Sundays and Sabres games throughout the season. Stay in the know and receive discounts by becoming an official member today.
Most frequently asked questions:
1. Where do you watch games?
We watch all of our games at the Cheyenne Grille at Peachtree Battle in Buckhead. For complete directions click here. The Cheyenne Grille is the Home of All Things Buffalo.
2. How do I become a member and receive club emails?
Our club reached our 500th member this season, and we are excited to keep growing! You can become an official member and receive club emails by sending your full name and email address to billsbackersatl@gmail.com.
3. How much does membership cost?
The answer is nothing, $0, nah dah. The cost of membership is your presence and an occasional “Bills Make me Wanna Shout” chant.
4. Are there any drink or food specials at the Cheyenne Grille?
YES. If you buy a Bills Backers of Atlanta beer glass, you will receive a $1 savings on all refills for the 2008 season. The glasses fund the tailgate, so buy a glass!! In addition, we now have $5 beef on weck plate specials on game days. This includes beef on weck, french fries/onion rings and a pickle.
5. What time do I need to get there in order to get a prime seat?
Early. The bar opens at 11 am on Sundays and alcohol isn’t served until 12 pm (gotta love those Georgia laws). Be kind and don’t steal the table of the regulars though, sorry! If you sat there for 3 years straight, you’d understand.
If you run out of chairs it’s always okay to take the chairs from the outside patio.
6. What is this Tailgate party I keep hearing about?
Our annual tailgate party is THE EVENT of the season for our club. It’s when members come out of the woodwork. Admission is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Being a member means that your name appears here. Admission comes with a souvenir item, all you can eat beef on weck, Sahlen’s hot dogs, Zwiegel’s white hots (for those Rochester folks), Bison chip dip, Loganberry pop, Troyer farms chips, Chiavetta’s chicken, and kegs upon kegs of Canadian beer.
We will have music and games (beer pong anyone?). This year’s charities are the Women & Childrens Hospital of Buffalo and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Last year we raised $2,000 for charity. We tailgate out in the designated side parking lot beginning at 12 pm on December 7, 2008 (SQUISH THE FISH). Eat up, party-it-up, and meet your long lost relatives that now live in Atlanta until 3:30. Group photo takes place at 3:45 and all-inside by 4 for the game.
7. How do I buy a club tee-shirt?
This year in lieu of tee-shirts we opted for glasses. We have a limited number of glasses left $10/each. See Ronni, Melissa, John or Dave. The bar was kind of enough to produce club tee-shirts again this year. They come in a variety of sizes and colors and are $15. See your waiter or waitress to purchase a tee-shirt. Tee-shirt sales go directly to the club – so purchase a tee-shirt today!
8. What are loyalty or membership points?
The Cheyenne Grille has loyalty cards. You can receive a loyalty card for free from your waiter or waitress. Every time you spend money you earn points. It’s a no brainer, so get one today to start earning something for all of those beer purchases your’re making (and we know there’s alot of that going on). Gulp!
9. What if I have a suggestion for the club?
Suggestions are always welcome and appreciated! Do you hate our website, do you love it? Do you have a fundraising idea? Would you like to become a website article author? Anything – send us your suggestions or comments to billsbackersatl@gmail.com.
10. Bills vs Falcons 2009, 2009 roadtrips, and Sabres games
Will we purchase group tickets to the Buffalo Bills vs Atlanta Falcons in 2009? ABSOLUTELY. We are already working with the Atlanta Falcons on purchasing as many tickets as we can get our hands on. Have no fear, we will get you tickets.
We are working on the April 1st Sabres game vs. Thrashers. The Thrashers are cooking up something good for us as we speak. They were thrilled with our turnout on Oct. 18th! Thanks to all who attended and continue to support the Club.
2nd Annual Roadtrip 2009 – where, when?
We are looking at either Charlotte or Tennesse, or both. Typically the roadtrip costs $200 and includes a charter bus ride to/from the game, stocked with beer and food, a hotel room, breakfast, a stocked tailgate, and a ticket to the game. Which game would you prefer? Email us and let us know.
